The Craig-y-Nos Country Park in the Brecon Beacons National Park will be hosting two special dog days. The park which sees thousands of walkers and their pets each year have set up the dog days to focus on the animals and their owners and information on wildlife and farm animals. Dog owners are encourage not to take chances with their pets’ health. The Paws in the Park initiative are holding the dog days on 17th February (Wednesday) and 18th February (Thursday), to take place from 10am to 4pm.
Participants will see Theresa Toomey, dog trainer and behaviourist, at hand with tips and tricks on dog handling. Judith Harvey, Head Warden of the National Park will also be there with a demonstration of working dogs. Experts from the farming community and Brecknock Wildlife Trust will answer questions to keep dogs walked in the park safe. Visitors will find here other breeds of dogs including toy dogs and Newfoundland. Pet owners will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis to 10 to 15 minute slots if they sign-up on the day. Rhiannon Saddler, dog groomer, will hold a pamper session. Theresa Toomey, dog handler, will offer individual advice sessions. Dog owners can get refreshments and treat their dogs too. The spaces are limited for these free sessions at the park.
