An energetic mix of contemporary choreography will be returning to the streets of Oxford city, on the city’s annual spring dance festival, showcasing a fusion of dance styles in an inclusive adventurous free event. The Dancin’ Oxford annual extravaganza is back from 2nd to 11th March, this year, for the 12th time. The ten day dance festival has a jam-packed programme. It brings you workshops for kids and families, a hip-hop performance that’s football inspired and a 24-hour danceathon!
Claire Thompson, dance officer of the city council, remarked the billing will be a treat that suits all tastes. She said they will be upending the dance floor this time to accommodate a series of amazing aerial performances that follow a musical score, on the Westgate Shopping Centre facade for the first time.
A record number of professional companies are getting involved here and a number of taster sessions too, she added. The Oxford Playhouse will host Geko’s The Wedding.
