Countryside Live will be held this year in Harrogate at the Great Yorkshire Showground. The event for the whole family will be held on 22nd and 23rd October (over Saturday and Sunday), which is being organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. The event is expected to attract thousands of visitors and has new attraction which include competitive classes for alpacas for the first time and Greg Wallace, famous through BBC MasterChef.
The Show Director, Charles Mills, said it’s a great show for all in the family. There’s competition for horses, sheep and cattle and the Search for a Talented Show-jumper, he added. Organised by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, the grand finals for the Young Shepard of the Year competition will be held on the Sunday, after the regional contests are over. Crowds are expected to the apple show featuring about 100 varieties cultivated in Yorkshire.
Other shows elsewhere include an autumn fruit, flower and vegetable show. Also seen will be a climbing wall, donkey rides, pigs and classes for poultry, pigeon and honey. Also staged will be birds and flyball demonstrations, cheese and beer tasting and archery. There will be stands with jewellery, designer clothes and good food. Although ticketed, there are free activities and parking at the show, with details available online at the site countrysidelive.uk.
