This summer will see free events being hosted across Cirencester’s parks and green spaces, as part of the nationwide celebration of parks and green spaces, with the return of Love Parks. This year’s events will be held from 28 July (Friday) to 28 July (Sunday), with the programme including arts and sculpture activities, nature walks and workshops, football golf, football tournament, pond dipping, wild in the woods, the popular dog show, Teddy Bear picnic and National Play Day.
Cirencester Town Council’s project and management support officer, Brona Langton, said Love Park is a great way to start the summer holidays and an opportunity to celebrate Circencester’s wonderful green spaces. The council’s estate services manager, Martin Conyers, said this is their 5th year of hosting free events and park goers are delighted by the programme, embracing the Love Park ethos. This would not be possible without the support of partner organisations, friends groups and the community, he added.
Lead member for Estate Services, Councillor Andy Lichnowski, accepted that the council uses the Love Park initiative to celebrate and share the parks with the community, via the programme, that gets people outside to enjoy with family and friends.
