August 11th, 2016 by Sandy

A free taster session in the art of Burlesque is being offered on 25th August, Thursday, from 8pm to 9pm, at the Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre in Chelmsford. The session is open for women interested and is hosted by woMEn TIME, of the Chelmsford City Council, in association with Burlesque Jems.

The council’s woMEn TIME is an initiative providing opportunities for women of 14 years and above, to become more active or try out a new sport, provided in a non-competitive and friendly environment. Owing to the council’s bid to get more women active , money has been secured to fund the project by Sport England.

The course by Burlesque Jems are for women, with no experience required, of all shapes, sizes, abilities and all ages, and aimed at mixed ability. With a friendly tutor at hand to introduce you to this fabulous dance form, you’ll learn through an easy routine using dance techniques of Burlesque and props. WoMEn TIME is teaming up with local sports clubs to make more local activities for ladies. As clubs have warmly welcomed all women to the good quality women-friendly activities, this free taster session too would be worth the try.
