Brighton’s Christmas Lights switch-on event coming soon

Brighton’s city-centre will light up in festive spirit on Thursday, 16th November, thanks to the Christmas Lights Switch-on event, with also a free party in East Street. The event is being organised by Brilliant Brighton, in association with 107.2 Juice FM and the children’s hospice, Chestnut Tree House. South Water is sponsoring the Christmas Lights event, which showcases this year some of the best talents in Brighton.

Formed out of 517 businesses, Brilliant Brighton, collectively pay the fee, digging deep into their pockets, to ensure the switch-on event will light-up the city for Christmas and to continue the tradition a decade old. The event will see the the 40-strong We Bop all-female choir from Brighton, performing on stage and performers from the Theatre Workshop along with them.

The Four Kings, a fun, tongue-in-cheek Christmas song, will be performed too. Find here AFOOUR the comedy group, Marvin Manouke, Andy Penford (look-alike of Simon Cowell) and Barry Elford of Storage Hunters UK and others on stage . To lead the countdown to the switch-on of the Christmas lights, there will be Chris Butland-Steed and Stephan Webb, the Googlebox stars. Favourites returning from last year include Ding Dong, #Fairy and Love,.

The event also has a raffle, with a £200 voucher as prize from Sorriso and a Marks and Spencer food hamper. Donations go to the children’s hospice. It is free entry to the big switch-on event of Christmas lights. The CEO of Brilliant Brighton, Gavin Stewart, said they were really excited about this year’s event of Christmas Lights Switch-On.
