The Brighton Armed Forces Day celebrations this year is being hosted by Blind Veterans UK, the military charity that supports ex-service men and women. The special event in Brighton is bringing together service organisations and charities in the area, on 25th June (Sunday), providing a platform to showcase their work for the community.
The event has the support of some great local talents like Mark Wintle, compère and DJ, as well as celebrity, like Chris Ellison and Johnny Ball, with many stalls and activities presented here. The event includes trying out archery and craft stalls, dance displays, a fashion show, a full military marching band, a British Military Fit assault course, a Field Gun display and the not-to-be-missed tri-service Cadet Kitkar Challenge.
A highlight on the day will be parachuting during lunch time, by the parachuting display team, the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment. To help out with the activities on the day, there will be many local blind veterans. If anyone who served in the Armed Forces and National Service is battling with sight loss, the Blind Veterans UK can help.
