Breeze Arts Festival in Leeds to run until end of month

July 24th, 2016 by Sandy

The Breeze Arts Festival started off Saturday and will go on until 30th July, boasting more than 40 events over the 8 days in Leeds. Claimed to be bigger than ever by the organisers, the festival gives young people a platform to showcase their talents. A group of young people, aged between 13 and 19 years, have helped to plan and manage the festival, with events they chose which they felt will appeal to young people having different interests.

The arts festival will see activities like art exhibitions by young talents, creative workshops in libraries, live performances and film screenings. Breeze Young Creatives: Live@Trinity Leeds is an own event organised by the group this year to showcase some of Leeds best young performers. A free live music event for teenagers in partnership with Leeds Beckett University and East Street Arts, Under the Owls, with performances throughout the week, will be held at the new event space of Kirkgate Market.

Events will be taking place across the city, in Leeds Town Hall, West Yorkshire Payhouse, Tinity Leeds and in libraries. Some fringe events have a charge. Enjoy the mostly free events at the biggest arts festival in West Yorkshire for young people, being organised and managed with help from a group of teenagers.
