BBC has announced launch of five new High Definition channels for 10 December and these channels will be free of subscription. The five channels such as BBC Four HD, BBC Three HD, CBBC HD, BBC News HD and CBeebies HD will be telecast on Freesat HD, Freeview HD, YouView, Virgin Media and Sky HD.
According to BBC director-general, Tony Hall, the launch has been made exactly on time before Christmas and much before the original schedule. Thus families can get together and enjoy HD shows on BBC during the festive season.
With the launch of these channels people can watch programmes with high quality experience and resolution. Viewers can watch HD content through on-demand service on BBC iPlayer.
