BBC iPlayer launched on Xbox LIVE free platform

BBC iPlayer, the admired video-on-demand service of BBC is now launched on Xbox LIVE free platform of Microsoft. BBC has teamed up with Microsoft to offer this amazing offer to its customers. By introducing this video-on-demand service on Xbox
LIVE for Free, the company becomes the very first company to offer its programmes for the Xbox 360 users. The interesting part is that the service is that the users can enjoy them free of cost. To enhance the BBC iPlayer experience, the users can enjoy programmes in a smart, easy and effective way.

Kinect Xbox 360 users can take advantage of improved functionality. Hand gestures and voice recognition are used to play the programs by the BBC iPlayer users. Currently, the BBC iPlayer is available across 450 platforms and devices from FreeSat, Freeview, Sony PlayStation, Nintendo Wii, Virgin Media and BT Vision. Additionally, the service is available on smart phones, tablets and internet-enabled TVs. BBC General Manager at BBC’s Programmes & On-Demand said that by launching the iPlayer to all Xbox users they hope to expand their audience. He said that they aim to team-up with Microsoft in the future for bringing such innovations.

Director of Xbox and Entertainment for Microsoft, Stephen McGill expressed their happiness to be able to work with BBC. BBC iPlayer is no offered on almost all platforms in the UK.
