Ballot for free tickets open for Queen’s 90th birthday celebration

Up to 5,000 places are available to attend the Queen’s 90th birthday party on The Long Walk at Windsor Castle. A ballot for free tickets has opened to the public for these places. Those winning the draw will attend the final night of the birthday festivities on 15th May. The show will feature 1,500 participants and 900 horses. The seated tickets for the ceremony were sold out in November. Now, the public can apply for one of the 5,000 places at a pre-performance party. The ballot closes on 14th March. One can apply for up to 4 tickets by registering online at the website- hmq90.co.uk and those winning a free ticket randomly drawn, will be notified by the end of March by email.

The 4-night show staged from 12th to 15th May, will be telling the story of the Queen. Each night will see members of the Royal Family attending and with other performances. The Sunday night performance will be broadcast live on TV with the Queen attending. The Queen has two birthdays celebrated each year. One is her actual birthday falling on 21st April and the other her official birthday celebrated in June, this year on 11th June, on a Saturday.
