Aycliffe Festival has free events and entertainment for all

The Aycliffe Festival is a 17-day programme, filled with events and entertainment. It starts off on 14th July (Friday) and runs until 30 July (Sunday), co-ordinated and supported by assistance and with grants from Great Aycliffe Town Council. Organised by the people for the people, events will be held at a number of venues in Aycliffe and Aycliffe Village, with many of them offering free entry.

One of the highlights on 14th July, will be Party in the Park in the Town Park, with the Big BRASS Bash in the evening supported by the town council. Events for all to enjoy include- the local band Ocean performing at Working Men’s Club for their Music Night. There’s a Social Evening at Aycliffe Village Hall with Betcha By Golly. St. Andrew’s Church will hold a Heritage Event and Agnew Community Centre will host Community fun Days. There’s also Flowers Forever and a Golf Competition at St. Elizabeth’s Church; Rose Lodge Care Home will hold Summer Fete; a meet the Mayor event at Great Aycliffe Council Office over afternoon tea; a Cocktail Night hosted at Oakleaf Sports Complex; and a Murder Mystery Night challenge to solve the crime.

There will be a number of free events for children too, as most events run during the school summer holiday, including the Recreation Centre hosting a STEM event. A Funfair will run from 12 to 16 July at Moore Lane Park. Every primary school student and the Library and Community Centres will be provided with programme details for the 17 Days of Festival Fun.
