Atlantic Sessions returns to the North Coast for four days again

Atlantic Sessions will be returning in its eighth year, to 30 venues across the North Coast, and will be showcasing over 50 artists throughout 4 days, from 17th to 20th November. Gigs will be hosted at pubs, cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, music venues and the Town Halls, by the finest performers from Northern Ireland, across the three resorts of Portstewart, Portrush and Portballintrae. Visitors can follow music trails in the venues, as every hour a different live performance will take place and offered admission free.

The event promoted by the Causeway Coast and Glens Council, now in its 8t year, has gained a reputation amongst performers and music fans alike, with a permanent place in the cultural calendar here. It has emerged as an opportunity to showcase music beyond urban hubs, offering a platform for new talent, as well as established artists, form all over Northern Ireland. It features a range from indie, electronic and acoustic singer-sonwriters to the traditional, bluegrass and Americana music. The festival this year coincides with the Causeway Coast and Glens Restaurant Week.

The council’s Mayor, Alderman Maura Hickey, said owing to the fantastic variety set against beautiful locations, the free musical entertainment is a winning combination, establishing Atlantic Sessions as one of the premier live music events of the Borough.
