Annual street party soon at North Parade in Bradford

July 2nd, 2016 by Sandy

The annual street party, a not-for-profit event, will take place on 30th July, on the North Parade in Bradford city. The free event will showcase the city centre street and work of its traders here, on Saturday, from Noon to 7pm.

The third annual street party is being organised by the staff from the restaurants and street bars, which include The Sparrow and Al’s Dime Bar. The bars will open all day and streets will have stalls selling food from all over the world, including Indian and Chinese cuisine, offered by Forks Cafe.

The first street party on North Parade was organised by Nigel Booth, a local businessman, in July of 2014, supported by the bars and other traders. Five years back the street was run down, but has been reborn wit new businesses. Many are supported by funding of Bradford Council Growth Zone.

The free event this year will showcase the street and its revival, with several Bradford bands too showcasing their music. There will also be fairground rides.

Last year saw North Parade as the losing finalists of Great British High Street awards, in the city category. The North Parade street party was nominated last year for the Yorkshire Gig Guide Best New Festival 2016.
