May 24th, 2017 by Sandy

Make Music Day is the world’s biggest music festival held annually, with free events being hosted in over 750 cities, across 120 countries. The music festival started more than 30 years back in France, takes place this year on 21st June, as an all day mass celebration of music, in all its forms, where everyone can join together and play music. Free events happening at places across UK include- performing arts libraries in Yeovil, Leeds, Dorking, Nottingham, Norwich and London. Other venues include bandstands in Watford, Walsall and Dudley, in Norfolk and Norwich Community Hospital, at Victoria Embankment Gardens in London, London Bridge Station and in city-centre locations in York, Doncaster, Cardiff and Edinburgh.

People can join in Come and Sing events, in the Learn to Play Day, or the ukulele jam sessions, all in London. They can join also the open rehearsals for orchestras and choirs, especially for people wishing to try out something new, or wanting to get back into making music. As there is still time to get involved in Make Music Day UK, which is looking for singers, musicians, music groups, bands and performers of all kinds, to take part, just register your interest. The team at Make Music Day will help match either way the venues with performers.
