The annual art exhibition by a group of artists at the St. Mathew’s Church in Sutton Bridge, will be held form Saturday (27th August) to 2nd September (Friday), with about 300 paintings made by over one hundred amateur and professional artists on show, at the venue.
Many well known and talented artists will participate, to exhibit their work over a wide range of subjects, remarked organiser Geof De Roux. Last year’s exhibition was successful, with many paintings being sold. As last year, visitors get the chance again to choose their favourite picture in a public vote. Maureen Hunt is one of the exhibitors and who started the exhibition. Many of the exhibits are from the members of the Sutton Bridge Art Group, which is chaired by Geof De Roux. The group meets at the Curlew Centre on every Wednesdays and conducts workshops too.
The organiser said that those who are not confident of putting their paintings up in the main exhibition, can display them in the church on a club board. Children too get a space to exhibit their work, at this free exhibition. It will be open from 10am to 6pm, Monday to Thursday; from 10am to 4pm on Friday; from 10am to 6pm on Saturday; and from 12 noon to 6pm on Sunday.
