August 14th, 2017 by Sandy

ParkFest is returning to Seaton Park on its third annual festival to mark the Aberdeen park’s 70th anniversary. The celebration is in collaboration with Aberdeen Council and Aberdeen Harbour, as ParkFest forms part of the platinum anniversary which is being organised by Friends of Seaton Park group, that also marks a milestone for the park. The park was part of the Seaton House estate grounds and in 1947 it was bought for public use, using funds from the Common Good Fund

The free event will run from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the park, on 10th September. Highlights of the celebration includes street drummers, Segways, dog agility, bouncy castles, the RSPB local group and ‘meet the police’. The Allotment Market Stall will be in attendance, so there will be refreshments. Sheila Gordon the Chairwoman of Friends of Seaton Park group said they are trying to have something for everybody. She felt that this sort of things is getting ever more popular, as 1,300 people in total turned up last year. The free event has something for everyone, suitable for all ages, with a range of activities and entertainment.
