Everyone can get home safe this Christmas Eve at least. Budweiser tying up with Uber, has stepped in and offered to pay for cabs booked on UberX to take home Christmas Eve boozers, for the entire UK. December has been for the last 3 years, the worst month for dirk driving, according to figures revealed by confused.com. Christmas drinks combined with reduced public transport tend to peak drink driving conviction every year in December, reckons the site.
Steph Okell of Budweiser UK, said they have run in the past a lot of campaigns for responsible drinking, but want to take their commitment to the next level in 2016. He said it is an initiative of epic proportions and impact, and they will consider the campaign a success if they can deter people from driving after drinking, during this Christmas.
To get the free ride home, one has to log-in to the special webpage of the Budweiser site and enter details asked for. Once submitted, Budweiser will send you, via email, a discount code at 4pm on Christmas Eve. After that, to book an Uber ride, from 4:00pm till 11:59pm, go to the menu and click on ‘Payment’ on the left side, then enter the discount code, once you have selected on ‘Add Promo/Gift code’ to enter it, and finally tap on ‘Add’. You’ll get the discount for the ride as long as your journey ends by 1:30am.
The offer is open to both existing and new Uber users, available on UberX. For more information (and terms & conditions) on the free taxi ride booked on Uber on Christmas Eve, visit their website- budweiser.co.uk, or visit their Facebook page. Only those 18 years and above can apply. This campaign could prove really useful.
