The free event Arts Fresco is returning to the Market Harborough venue on Sunday, 14 September. The spectacular street theatre event will again join hands with the Lubenham Scarecrow, another popular event in the weekend where thousands of visitors expected to attend the free events. Around 10,000 people are expected by the Arts Fresco organisers to fill up the centre of Market Harborough, where the day-long free event has been relaunched after a gap of 2 years, owing to funding issues. The event is now being funded by a grant from the Arts Council for £15,000 and by local firms. Another grant of £10,000 comes from Joules, the Harborough clothing company.
A new committee has been set up to run the free event and is bringing it back to its former format at the town centre. The organisers of the 14th Lubenham Scarecrow weekend expects thousands of visitors from across the Midlands to arrive at the village. The place is near Market Harborough will be displaying dozens of scarecrows around the village. Also tractor drawn trailer rides, quad bikes, fairground rides and even traditional games will be featured during the weekend.
