‘Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain’ by Dr. Kawashima, that was released in Japan recently, as the first DS title on Virtual Console and is now available on the European Wii U eShop for free. A great bargain indeed and stated to be free until 10 July.
It may not be very appealing to a maths whiz-kid, but Brain Training intends to be a maths game. Answering 100 posers quickly might not be a big challenge, but Dr. Kawashima has transformed the tedious task into something nearly fun, with the quick-fire succession of simple problems. First you answer 20 simple posers, next you are put on a 100.
Apart from subtraction or additions, you have memory tests, a reading test and counting trials. A few days of training and you can do all that faster, and start to knock-off years from you brain age. You can also play with up to 14 opponents on the multiplayer games. Included are Sudoku games too. Scribbling down answers with a stylus and shouting answers into a mike is much more fun. That’s why Brain Training’s success has little to do with Sudoku or maths. It’s definitely worth to download and add to your DS collection.
