Fee events lined-up for you at Festival of Learning

The week long Bournemouth University’s Festival of Learning returns on its second year. It will run form 9 June to 15 June, with free events queued-up at the university’s Lansdowne and Talbot campuses, from 9am to 4pm. It is expected to draw in thousands of visitors, as the Festival of Learning events are open to all.

This year’s themes for events and activities include families and children, food and drink, sport, business development, technology and tomorrow’s world. Highlights include a summit on poverty in the local community, on 10 June, Tuesday, from 10am to 4pm, at the Talbot Campus. A talk about the history of the area on Tuesday (10 June) afternoon, at Hengistbury Head, is another. There’s also a performance, a psychological thriller, on Wednesday (11 June), at 7am, in the Talbot campus.

Film-goers should bring their own blankets or rugs for the summer evening show. For the less hardy, deck chairs and even blankets, are available on hire. The Kopparberg bar will provide refreshments and drinks. Tempting dinner menu will also be offered by street food vendors from all over London. The film screenings run on most Tuesdays, starting from 3 June to 22 July. Screenings are free and no bookings needed. Just reach early to get a good spot outdoors.
