Free volleyball event at Nowton Park as part of the Go Spike Big Weekend
To encourage the sport of volleyball, Bury Bobcats and Stowmarket teams will be hosting some free events on Sunday (1st May), marking also the beginning of the outdoor season for volleyball. This is in association with the Go Spike Big Weekend. The Bobcats are welcoming anyone to join them to give a go at volleyball. Join them at the Nowton Park, for a session at 3:00PM. Also Stowmarket will offer the same taster session at the Recreation Ground at 6:00PM.
Stowmarket team retained the Suffolk Cup, scoring a 3-0 win over Lakenheath in the finals of the indoor volleyball season. The Boswell Blaze team competed earlier this month at the National Volleyball Centre, Kettering. Two Suffolk girls, Amelia Hadjianastasi and Maya Hagander from Bury Bobcats were selected to the Bosewell Blaze team to play in the Under-15s squad that came third in the finals of the National Championship, losing to Teamside A in the semi-finals.
Free ADD – ADHD workshop at Abbot Public Library
Another free workshop of ADD – ADJHD will be offered on 4th June, Wednesday, at 7:00PM, owing to demand. The venue is the Abbot Public Library on 245 pleasant Street, Marblehead. The Foundation for Wellness Professionals will be hosting it with Dr. Jolene Ross. Dr. Ross, an experienced neurobehavioural psychologist, received EEC assessment training in Boston, at the Children’s Hospital Mediacal Center, from Dr. K.H.Wong.
Dr. Ross, who is a licensed psychologist and senior fellow of the Biofeedback Certification International Association, will present the workshop on executive functioning skills, and also go over how functioning skills can be improved. She will also review the research done in this area.
