As part of the Bookbug Week, which is part of the national Early Years Programme, which is associated with the Scottish Book Trust’ programme, the Aberdeen City Libraries will be holding a series of free events. The scheme supports the idea of book gifting. Some 720,000 free books are being gifted every year to babies, toddlers, to 3-year olds and to Primary-1 children in Scotland.
This time the Bookbug Week of 2014 has the themes- Bookbug’s Big-Sports-Day, holding special events on sport-themed activities, stories, rhymes and songs. Parents with their babies or toddlers will participate, and the children will get a special booklet of songs and rhymes. The Bookbug Week’s free events to be held are as – On 20th May, Tuesday, between 10.30am and 11am at Central Children’s Library; on 20th May, Tuesday, between 10.30am and 11am at Cults Library; on 21st May, Wednesday, between 10.30am and 11am at Cornhill Library; on 22nd May, Thursday, between 10.30am and 11am at Bridge of Don Library; on 22nd May, Thursday, between 2.15pm and 3pm at Culter Library; on 23rd May, Friday, between 10.30am and 11am at Northfield Library.
