Join the free Winter Wildfowl Watch walk at Rickmansworth Aquadrome
A free event is being held for nature lovers at the Rickmansworth Aquadrome. So enthusiasts are welcome to attend the free event – Winter Wildfowl Watch on Saturday, 18 January, that will run from 10am to 12pm. The event includes a2-mile walk starting from the cafe and booking is not required. Participants are recommended to bring binoculars to help learn about nature, history and management of the wildlife site, through this free event. Free event on Chinese crafts
Confucius Institute, University of Nottingham and School of Contemporary Chinese Studies will conduct a free event for visitors on Chinese story telling and arts and crafts. Visitors can also try their hand at Chinese calligraphy, brush painting and art of origami. Nicky Rafferty, a local story teller will narrate folk tales from China during the story telling session. Also, Tai-chi workshops and demonstrations will be held. The free event will take place on 26 January at the Lakeside Arts Centre at 1pm.
Free session on levels of alcohol intake
Curtains for festive seasons have finally come down and now it’s time for all of us to give attention to the amount of alcohol intake during the past few days by going alcohol free for 31 days. Warwickshire NHS Trust and University Hospitals Coventry will conduct a free event on 22nd January. Alcohol Liaison Service Team will explain on alcohol issues and also on the effects of drinking alcohol beyond the recommended levels. The main aim of conducting this event is to raise awareness on the effects of harmful drinking.
