Essex gets £24m support for school meals and childcare

The Government has handed over an amount of £24million to the authorities of Essex to further provide free school meals and also free childcare. In a similar incident, the east of England was allotted more than £67million which helped to increase the number of children availing free childcare from 13,700 to 24,600.

Essex councils were asked to invest the cash in childminders and nurseries so that the number of children availing childcare facility from 8am to 6pm can be increased from September 2014. The Government made it clear that extra funding will be provided for free meals for pupils in the south of the county. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, every child has the right to get the proper way of education system regardless of their background or financial status.
