Free Parking at Uttlesford
To help boost trade and footfall in shopping centres, the Uttlesford District Council has announced to allow free parking at the Uttlesford council owned car parking areas. This will be offered up to Christmas and running up to the New Year. The offer is free of charge parking from Christmas eve, right up to 5 January, except Waitrose / Fairycroft. All day free parking will be offered on 7 December, Saturday, at car park in Crafton Green, Stamsted, supporting the Christmas Fair.
Free Parking at more places in Richmond
The Mayor of London has launched a free parking scheme, where drivers can park along Upper Richmond Road West for 30 minutes. There will be increase of 20 to 30 minutes of free parking on TfL red routes in the Boris Johnson stop & shop scheme. Another schme is the Richmond Card that allows some free parking for residents. All these efforts are to boost the local economy and help high street shopping.
Free parking at Ulverston
South Lakeland District Council has announced free parking upto Christmas that is on December 1, 8, 15 and 22 in the areas of Grange, Ulverston and the Lakes. Free parking will be allowed in Ambleside, Bowness, Grange, Kirkby Lonsdale, Grasmere, Milnthorpe, Ulverston, Windermere and Kendal. This offer is applicable at Westmorland Shopping Centre, Kendal as well.
This is the best chance for both shoppers and shop keepers to utilise the use of free parking. Local businesses and small shops can open their businesses accordingly during this time.
Free parking in Croxley Green car park
Free parking facilities for motorists for a period of an hour will be allowed in Croxley Green car park which is situated in Watford Road next to the Red House pub. Motorists will be allowed to park for free between 8am to 6pm. 18 such free spaces can be enjoyed. The District Council is determined to provide this facility for a short time to areas on the high streets.
According to the councillor, the profile of Croxley will improve when the work on the Rail Link gets completed. Display and long term pay parking will also be available during the day time in the car park.
Free parking across Teesside
Free parking has been announced by councils of Middlesbrough, Stockton, Redcar and Cleveland. Stockton will be allowed the facility after 3pm in short stay car parks in the council from 28 November upto 31 January 2014.
All council parks in Middlesbrough will continue to get two hours of free parking facility that has been running since February. But between December 2 and 31, £1 will be charged after two hours of free parking.
Cleveland Centre car park will extend free parking facility on December 5, 12 and 16 to 20 after 4pm for the sake of late night shoppers.
In the borough council of Redcar and Cleveland, free parking will be allowed after 1pm from 29 November to 31 December.
