Portsmouth Residents to get free liver screening this month

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust and Portsmouth City Council will offer free liver screening for Portsmouth residents (aged over 18) who are the risk of developing liver disease. The ‘Love Your Liver’ event will be held as part of the Alcohol Awareness Week (November 18 to 22). Several liver specialists will gather at Guildhall Square for the free screening.

No bookings are required. Appointments will be made on first come first served basis. Free advice will be given away by people of community services related to the programme. According to experts, taking a break from alcohol for few days every week and regular exercise can help to reduce the risk of developing liver disease to a great extent. Residents of Portsmouth can interact with experts to get valuable advice on their drinking manners. Call 023 9284 1753 to get help or advice on controlling alcohol drinking.
