The Time Out magazine will be relaunched in the capital for free. The magazine founded in 1968, is a paid-for magazine but it will be distributed free now. It is this London version which will be free and not the other weeklies of Time Out. This weekly magazine follows as the latest in a list of titles that have gone free, such as the Metro, the Evening Standard, Stylist and Shortlist magazines. In London people like free magazines and the publication aims to give away 300,000 copies per week.
The entertainment magazine’s editor, Tim Arther hopes to broaden the reach of the magazine and thus compliment its website and mobile apps. About 3 million visitors read the editorial at the website to know of Time Out’s opinions. In fact, the advertisement agency has claimed to have sold out all advertisement space for the first couple of free issues.
Usually people don’t want to pay much for a magazine. The company is committed to print and has taken a ‘bold move’. The free editions will be distributed outside London’s tube stations, museums, galleries, cafes and shops.
