Yahoo trying out providing free food for employees

Free Food for Yahoo EmployeesIf in- house trials at Yahoo are successful, free food and other perquisites would become the regular norm in all Yahoo offices.

According to a lady representative at Yahoo, this policy, which is at present being carried out on a trial basis at Yahoo’s New York and Sunnyvale in California offices, may in all probability become the standard in Yahoo offices even in the UK.

The lady states that if the trial turns out well, the company would be implementing the same policy in all other offices in Yahoo that have been serving food.

As per technology blogs on the Internet, Marissa Mayer, and the CEO of Yahoo has sent out emails to all staff in Yahoo requesting for reviews regarding what they feel would enhance the working atmosphere. At the same time she has also given them a gist of her ideas of making Yahoo the most ideal place to be working in.

She also went on to say that the company would not mind providing staff with free smartphones either.

The Internet stalwart that is currently not doing extremely well has revived the importance that it has attached to the motivation of its staff following Ms. Mayer taking on the position of CEO in the month of July. Ms. Mayer joined Yahoo after she left from their competitor Google.

The custom of providing food for free along with other advantages is the usual norm at Google.

Ms. Mayer had brought in alteration earlier on by getting rid of Yahoo’s stock price from the official website of the firm so as to entice staff to consider products instead of profits.

Ms. Mayer who is also a computer scientist took over the position of CEO when Mr. Scott Thompson resigned as a result of charges stating that he had represented his qualifications inaccurately.
