Aspley Heath Free SchoolAs a part of the amalgamation with Barnfield Education Partnership Trust, Aspley Heath will be getting a new free school.

The once free nursery and pre-preparatory school, the Fernwood School would, from the coming year onwards be a totally free school.

By associating with Barnfield and changing the status of Fernwood School to free school, the Fernwood School would then be a primary school that would be financed by the state, and children who are not paying fees can avail access to the school by the month of September of the coming year i.e.2013.

Sir Peter Birkett, the Chief Executive of Barnfield stated that he was extremely happy to welcome the Fernwood School into their group.

He remarked that the model of a free school had seemed to be a great success with Barnfield Moorlands Free school located in Luton ever since it was started, which was in 2011. He also added that they were anticipating that becoming when Fernwood and Moorlands schools became partners they would also be able to exchange all the good practices.

He said that the Fernwood School was a good school that already had all the conventional values that were being promoted by Barnfield and added that they would help keep the legacy in tact by offering excellent education to every student.
