The North Ireland UK state-owned railway operators has decided to add wireless mobile broadband services to all its trains to help better customer service for more that 10 million people who use their trains every year. The firm stated that this decision to include Wi-Fi service on the trains was an attempt to induce more travellers to travel by the enhanced facilities on the train rather than by car.
Senior Technical Engineer for Translink NI Railways, Mr. David Lowry stated that this addition of wireless broadband to trains was an encouragement to travel by tail. He said that more number of people have begun commuting in their trains to be able to avail accessibility to the Internet to check emails, or to be up-to-date with social media, thereby permitting them to make use of their time usefully. This free service would also increase value making it simpler for passengers to stay connected.
Mr. Lowry stated that being linked to the Internet also helps the firm better, for example the chances of launching instant connectivity thereby allowing travellers to know where the train is at any point of time such that they can board it at some place nearby.

The complete provision is slated to be finished by the fall of the current year.
