Free WiFi by CCTOne of the leading telecommunications providers in the Virgin Island in the UK, CCT Wireless has declared that they would be introducing their novel CCT Wi-Fi facilities and that they already have many Wi-Fi hotspots installed throughout all regions where they have their telecom lines. This facility is said to be driven by their own WIMAX network system and is made available totally free of cost to people who are subscribing to CCTnet and CCTmax broadband. Even people who are not subscribed to the CCT can avail of the facilities for a specified fee for every session.

General Manager of CCT, Jose Luis Fernandez remarked that they found that they wanted to ensure that their clients were always linked to the Internet whenever they were in the BVI. He also mentioned that they were delighted to provide their subscribers with the additional advantages of free Wi-Fi that goes extremely well with their CCTnet or CCTmax subscriptions. He said that there were plenty of people who visit BVI during their vacation to access the Internet inexpensively.

The CCT Wi-Fi is as of now available at Gertrude’s White Bay, (Jost Van Dyke), Peg Legs Nanny Cay, Waterfront Taxi Stand, Jolly Roger, Capt. Mulligan’s Nanny Cay, UP’s Cineplex, Mariette’s Fort Hill, Noel Lloyd Park, Myett’s Cane Garden Bay, TB Lettsome Airport (Beef Island), Top of the Bath’s and Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour (both Virgin Gorda). People availing of Speedy’s Ferry Service and using either the Unforgettable or the Peacemaker can also avail of connections.

Set up in the year 1986 by the name CCT Boatphone, Caribbean Cellular Telephone or CCT the telecommunications provider is owned locally and provides mobile connections over a range of interfaces. Sometime towards the middle of the year 2008, CCT expanded its facilities with a WIMAX broadband network system, in spite of the fact that broadband costs were soaring. People subscribing for the facilities had to pay for the modem that had Premium speeds of 4Mbps at a nominal monthly fee.
