People in Buxton to receive free blood pressure checks

Free Blood Pressure Check-upResidents in Buxton will benefit from free blood pressure checks. This blood pressure check up is not just for the locals but also the visitors. Part of a campaign that creates awareness and prevents strokes, this free check-up is sure to attract many. Named as “Know Your Blood Pressure Campaign”, is initiative is supported by Rotary Club of Buxton and the Stroke Association UK. Their partnership will host two events for the benefit of the communities. On April 20 between 10am and 1pm, Health professionals will be there to measure the blood pressures of the peoples in Buxton. On Saturday, April 21 the health professionals will be at the Spring Gardens Centre checking blood pressures from 9am until midday.

Similar scheme was introduced last year and 200 people benefited from it. Organizer for the Buxton Rotary Club, Dr John Harry said that this year they expect somewhat the same figure. The blood pressure check-up will take just few minutes and anyone can take advantage of it. Since, high blood pressure causes stroke it is necessary to get the blood pressure checked regularly. With regular check-up, stroke could be prevented and earlier treatment could be received.

Rotary International and the Stroke Association has been partnering for this cause for past ten years. Such free blood measurements have been set up in town across the country.
