As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations, ABPCO is honouring 25 top events and conferencing students with free memberships. All the students are chosen by their universities taking into account their excellence in academics and achievements. Inaugural award for Academic Excellence was given to Annie Metcalfe of Leeds Metropolitan University. The award was given to her at St Paul’s Cathedral during the annual conference gala dinner of ABPCO. She has joined ABPCO last year. This initiation of ABPCO aims at recognizing students who excel in academics and is committed to distinguish the budding talents in events and conferencing industry. By offering these awards they could encourage students who excel in events and conferencing.
Apart from the free entry level membership, work placements are being offered by ABPCO’s PCOs, agencies and corporate members. Entry-level members who find hard to get placements can take advantage of their placements. Capable and highly talents youths can make use of this wonderful opportunity offered by ABPCO. To provide additional support to the students they have introduced a Facebook group exclusively for entry level member s where updated newsletters flagging events, networking opportunities and work placements are offered. Over the coming months, they will work to expand its support and offerings.
In addition to the Leeds Metropolitan University, students from Regents College London, Sheffield Hallam; Queen Margaret University, Liverpool John Moores University, Warwickshire College, Robert Gordon University, University of the West of Scotland, Belfast Met College, University of Winchester and the University of Westminster are selected for the prestigious honours.
