Department of Communications supports the introduction of a free tool that will help new internet users get online. A recent report suggests that three-quarters of elderly Irish people have never used internet. This tool already being used in the UK and has encouraged older people to access the internet.
With the launch of this new tool, more users will be encouraged to use the internet. This tool will enable the new users to access internet and browse web without any confusion or worries. Experienced internet users can help the elderly folks by creating simple to use and custom-made browser. Internet Buttons facilitates creation of a personalized browser.
To create a strong digital future for Ireland, more users should be encouraged to get online, said Pat Rabbitte Minister for Communications. Designed by We Are What We Do, a not-for-profit initiative is offered at internet buttons.ie for free. It is made available by UPC.
