Dickinson Dees, the Newcastle law firm has been reappointed to advice the government about the free schools programme. They have been working on fantastic proposal with Partnerships for Schools (PfS) for the Department of Education (DfE). The reappointment of the firm is based on its last year’s effective work on primary wave of 25 free schools. Partner for schools work in the Dickinson Dees’s public services team, Kevin Robertson said the appointment will help them in the front position of education work for schools at national level.
In October 2010, the firm was appointed to provide first wave of free schools in England. These free schools opened last year. The firm had advised them on various matters like construction, procurement and property. To help in the work of delivering second large wave of 55 free schools, along with Studio Schools and University Technical Colleges (UTCs), the law firm has been reappointed.
Education team at Dickinson Dees has co-ordinated with 70 experts from the firm to give advices on free school proposers on schemes. In the education segment, they have advised schools, free schools proposers, academies and local authorities. With its expertise, it has become a foremost legal adviser to the education sector.
