Free Walks around Colchester
On the eve of the Olympic Games to be held in London, as a run up session, a series of free walks representing the increasing difficulties will be held in Colchester. The first phase of monthly walk which is a two-mile stroll around the Country Park of East Mersea – Cudmore Grove, will start at 10 AM on Feb 05 2012.This will be followed with a 10-mile hike along the North Essex on the 3rd of June 2012. Each of the organized five walks is linked to a specific Olympic ring color and participants will receive a similar colored souvenir pin badge for free.
Kids go free for New Year clash with Burscough
Kids under the age of 16 are offered cost-free entry permits to Kendel Town’s clash against Burscough, an exciting New Year offer, in the CosySeal arena. Kids may avail their tickets at the Westmorland shopping center on Wednesday and in the Birdcage in the Finkle Street on Saturday and Thursday between 10 AM to 2 PM. Monday’s game starts at 3 PM.

Free train ride on New Year’s Eve.
Free train travel is offered this New Year’s Eve on two routes run by First Capital Connect (FCC). A revised time table for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day will be showing extra services on its two routes will be on its website.
The service on both Thameslink and Great Northern on New Year’s Day departing from London will offer free travel between 11.45pm and 4.30am. However passengers still need to get tickets to use these services heading towards London. FCC plans to run free services on New Year’s Eve for the next four years. FCC is the passenger train operating company on franchise up to 2015.
