After a major take down, it now appears that Sony is attempting to regain the trust of its customers. Sony is now offering its users, free access to the Playstation Network. This move from Sony is gaining positive feedback from customers, as seen on Facebook and the Playstation blogs. However, there are users who expressed discontent too.
Earlier this year, Sony Corporation fell victim to a hack attack, resulting in loss of personal data of the entire 78 million customers in its database. The details that were leaked included names, passwords, emails, addresses and even card numbers. More importantly, users were informed of the data leak only a week after Sony identified the problem.
Sony has apologised and promised to all users that they would enforce strict security measures in the future once they restart the Playstation Network.
Sony is offering freebies including a 30 day free trial, premium membership to existing users and also fees for credit card renewal. The company has announced that it would pay compensation to users who have suffered damage because of data loss. Though Sony has a long way to go to reach the stand it had in the consumer electronics market previously, the company has begun to take some action towards it.
