Refugee Week is a celebration across the UK with a festival of arts, cultural and educational events that celebrates the contribution of refugees. The theme for this year is You, Me and Those Who Came Before.
The Refugee Week will be celebrated from Monday – June 17 to Saturday – June 22, 2019. In Preston, the University of Central Lancashire has joined along with various organizations to organize for various free events to mark Refugee Week. The Preston Black History Group and Preston City of Sanctuary are some of the organizations joining hands with the university.
There will be 5 sessions hosted in the Preston Campus in the Refugee week that covers about the migration and the struggles people face.

Two Workshops by Amnesty International trainers – on June 18, “Brave campaign” at 12.30 pm and “I Welcome campaign” at Scholars Restaurant, Foster Building, UCLan Preston Campus.
There will be Makers Market on Saturday – June 22 at 12 pm at People’s Production Lab, Guildhall St, Preston.
There will be a Ladies’ Celebration of Dance on June 20 supported by Preston City of Sanctuary held at the Sahara Centre, 48 Fishwick Parade, Preston, PR1 4XQ. This free event is only for ladies.
