Free workshops at Birmingham and London

June 4th, 2019 by Sandy

There have been series of free workshops accredited by CPD organized on below dates on how the highways asset management has evolved and how to manage in future. The workshops have been supported by Department of Transport and these sessions will feature how science and technology helps in data analysis and highways surface treatments with the help of effective funding models which in turn help the councils to get life for their roads.

The big companies Gaist and ASI will be holding these workshop series between 10 am to 3 pm as below:

Monday – June 3, 2019 in Manchester has been over.

Thursday – June 20, 2019 in Birmingham at The Studio, 7 Cannon Street, Birmingham B25EP.

Wednesday – July 3, 2019 in London at 95, Great Portland Street, Marylebone, London W1W 7NY.

In the last 10 years, the local authorities had faced the challenge in developing long term asset management plans and dealing with uncertainity in funding. At the same time, the road users’ expectations have been raised that has given pressure to act quickly with the limited resources.

In the recent few years, we are hearing the terms digital services, smart cities, smart infrastructure like that. Actually what are they mean? Here these big companies holding these workshops will discuss about in the last 10 years how the highways asset management has evolved and the importance of innovative road surface preservation techniques in modern maintenance.

The participants can meet Steve Berry – the Head of Road Maintenance at DFT and Howard Robinson – Former Head of the Road Surface Treatments Association and at present Managing Director of ASI.
