There have been a series of free cookery workshops organized by Volunteer Centre Dorset from Wednesday – June 5, 2019 and running every two weeks until September 24, 2019 at Dorchester Day Centre, Acland Road, Dorchester DT1 1SH. The workshops will run between 6 pm to 7.30 pm.
The free cookery workshops are mainly aimed at young carers and those having low incomes. However they announced that it is open to all. The participants can learn more about cooking and nutritional values at low cost. With the help of Tesco’s Bags of Help initiative, the workshops are being run by Volunteer Centre Dorset. The classes will be led by chef Tony Gibbons and team who are from The Friendly Food Club and other volunteers. All the ingredients will be provided.
Craig Womble – Deputy Manager said that last year they attempted a trial of such an idea as a part of Community Allotment Project in which they prepared some delicious food. These are hands on courses and the participants will be provided support at the sessions and they can either eat or take along with them what they prepared.
