Girls Golf Rocks is a national campaign aimed to motivate girls aged between 5 to 18 years to take part actively in the game of golf. The campaign is run by England Golf and the Golf Foundation. Interested girls can try out free taster sessions and join the 6 week course after the free taster.
There will be free taster sessions held at four of the clubs in Cumbria as follows:
Barrow Golf Club at Rakesmoor Lane, Hawcoat, Barrow in Furness LA14 4QB on Saturday – May 18, 2019 between 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm and the classes will run between May 25 to June 29, 2019.
Carus Green Golf Club at Burneside Rd, Kendal LA9 6EB on Saturyday – May 25, 2019 between 12 pm to 2 pm and the classes will run between June 4 to July 9, 2019.
Eden Golf Club at Eden Golf Club, Crosby-on-Eden, Carlisle CA6 4RA on Tuesday – May 21, 2019 between 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm and the classes will run between June 4 to July 9, 2019.
Penrith Golf Club at Salkeld Rd, Penrith CA11 8SG on Sunday – May 19, 2019 between 3 pm to 5 pm and the classes will run between May 27 to July 1, 2019.
The participants can come along to the free taster sessions and can stay relax, play fun games, get time to chat and make new friends. The clubs will provide all the equipment required.
The participants will be led by the PGA professional coaches and supported by Girls Golf Rocks ambassadors from local clubs and the county girls’ squad. Girls can come in a comfortable and suitable dress. They can try out free taster session before joining the course and they will also get a chance to play in a team with the Girls Golf Rocks ambassadors.
