Free taster passes at Durham County Council’s leisure centres

Are you looking to start a new physical activity in this New Year? Here the leisure centres in Durham County Council are offering various free taster freebies. Find the nearest leisure centre and try out your favourite activity.

Those who are visiting any leisure centre in Durham County Council from Friday – January 18, 2019 to Monday – January 21, 2019 can avail a free 3-day pass and they can try out swim, gym sessions and also some of the selected fitness sessions. Those visiting the gym will be given an induction plan personally and individually for free at the centre.

The free 3-day pass & membership offers are available at Abbey Leisure Centre, Durham; Consett Leisure Centre; Chester-le-Street Leisure Centre; Freeman’s Quay Leisure Centre, Durham; Meadowfield Leisure Centre; The Louisa Centre, Stanley; Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre, Riverside Leisure Complex, Chester le Street; Spennymoor Leisure Centre; Shildon-Sunnydale Leisure Centre; Teesdale Leisure Centre; Woodhouse Close Leisure Centre, Bishop Auckland.

Principal Aquatics Manager – Kaye Stephenson said that this New Year will be giving great benefits for people to stay fit and healthy and to cultivate the habit of physical exercise. For those new to the County’s leisure centres can come and try out at the gym/ swim and wide range of other activities and also about the facilities that the centres are having.

And those ready to join can take up best membership offers for this month. They can get into gym/ swim membership just for £5 when they sign up to a direct debit gym or swim membership which they can avail from Saturday – January 19 to Thursday – January 31, 2019 and there is no need to pay anything further until the month of March 2019. They can take membership online by visiting http://www.durham.gov.uk/leisurecentrememberships or they can visit a participating leisure centre in the county directly in person.
