The lottery players still get free entry to the award winning art gallery at Auckland. The Mining Art Gallery is offering free entry from Thursday – December 27 to Sunday – December 30, 2018 to their gallery as a part of “thanks-to-you” campaign. Those who have paper or digital national lottery ticket or scratch card will get free entry.
The gallery is located at Market Place, Bishop Auckland DL14 7NP. The gallery will be open from 10 am to 4 pm regularly. Generally they are charging £5 (adults), £4 (concessions) and £1 (under-16s) including access to Auckland Tower as entry ticket cost. But to say thanks to people who contributed to national lottery fund, the gallery is offering free entry this week.
The gallery has not received any funds directly from lottery funding, but it is a part of The Auckland Project, which is one of the visitor attractions that has been funded by national lottery. There was an amount of £12.4m received by the Auckland Project from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Head of visitor experience at The Auckland Project – Hannah Peaden said that they are grateful to the national lottery players who supported by buying lottery tickets. It is great to get a chance to say thanks to them. Their team is expecting to welcome the visitors to the gallery with free entry. The visitors can enjoy the award winning gallery and also get a chance to see the new exhibition “Breaking Ground– Women of the Northern Coalfields” where they can enjoy a wonderful day out in their holidays.
The gallery has been named as the North East’s Small Visitor Attraction of the Year recently and it depicts the artworks of miners’ home & work life and also temporary exhibitions.
