The South Wales Saints Squad is a cheerleading squad based in Newport of South Wales. They are giving training to their members from beginners stage to strong athletes by their experienced coaching staff which helps to develop skills of jumps, stunting, tumble & cheer to bring team spirit, attitude and confidence level. South Wales Saints Squad is organising for free taster sessions on January 13 & January 17, 2019.
The team was formed in 2012 by Kelly-Ann Keyse and was recruiting members through the University of South Wales at Caerleon Campus. As the campus was closed, their members have reduced to 10 at present and planning for new recruitment of both men & women aged 14+ years of all abilities. There is no need for any experience of dance or gymnastics to join the squad. If anyone interested and want to improve their fitness, to meet new people, they can just join the squad.
Ms.Keyse said that Cheerleading is not just standing with pompoms. It really makes you to stay fit & healthy both physically and mentally and helps to build skills of team work & good communication along with having good friends for lifetime. Theirs is mixed ability group. There were various people joining earlier years without any background in cheerleading. The squad itself is giving proper training from the beginning. Now the team requires more members to run the squad.
The cheerleading Squad is practicing at City of Newport Gymnastics Academy Unit 9/10, Langland Park West, Langland Way, Newport Gwent NP19 4PT. You can find them on Thursdays between 7.15 pm to 8.45 pm and on Sundays between 6 pm to 8 pm.
All those interested can come and join the team on Sunday – January 13 and Thursday – January 17. For more information, please visit cheerleadingsquad.wix.com/southwalessaint or visit their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SouthWalesSaints/.
