(1) Free taster day at Wealden Bowls Centre

There has been organised a open day on Saturday – December 1, 2018 and free taster session between 9.30 am to 1.30 pm at the Wealden Bowls Centre located at Maresfield Sports Park, Batts Bridge Road, Maresfield, East Sussex TN22 2HN. Those interested may come and try out bowling at the centre.

Ian Smith – Director & Membership Secretary said that the centre is having a six rink bowling green and offers the new members with an introductory course and the facilities have catering services. It offers a great chance to try out a new sport.

The centre is a not for profit organisation and has wide range of bowling both indoor & outdoor suitable for all. Come along for a free taster and taste it along with tea/coffee.

(2) Free entry to Lion Salt Works Museum on Victorian Christmas celebrations

There has been a free entry to the Lion Salt Works Museum located at Ollershaw Lane, Marston, Northwich, Cheshire CW9 6ES, UK, for those who purchased lottery ticket or scratch card recently to enjoy the Victorian Christmas celebration events at the museum under Thanks to You initiative.

The museum got a grant of £5m from the Heritage Lottery Fund in 2011 and £5.2m from Cheshire West and Chester Council for restoration of the place. It was reopened after renovation during 2015.

The Victorian Christmas celebration will run from Tuesday – December 4 to Friday – December 9, 2018. The daily activities and events will be between 10.30 am to 5 pm and the Christmas market will be open from 10.30 am to 8 pm. The Christmas celebrations will have steam engines, reindeer, music, traditional crafts, father Christmas and vibrant Christmas market.

The Rivendell Choir’s carol singers will present their performance on Saturday, December 8 from 1 pm to 3 pm and there will be a performance on Sunday, December 9 by the Middlewich Bell Ringers at 1.30 pm.
