Free networking event by Fenland District Council

There has been organised a free event on Thursday – November 29, 2018 at The Boathouse Business Centre located at 1 Harbour Square, Wisbech PE13 3BH, UK. The free event is aimed at Fenland landlords to provide advice and support to them. The event will be held between 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

Upon the success of first event happened in the month of June, the council has organised another landlord networking event which aims to update knowledge on new government legislation and the services they can get from the council.

Council’s Cabinet Member for Private Sector Housing – Councillor Dee Laws said their main aim is to create awareness on legal obligations among the landlords helping them to avoid future penalties/ criminal proceedings. Whether start up or small scale landlords, this free event will for sure benefit them.

The participants can also meet the members of The National Landlords Association who will be available on the day and they can know from them everything about changes to multiple occupying house licensing, court processes (incl Sec.21) notices and taxation. The representatives of the Department of Work and Pensions will explain the landlords about the Universal Credit roll out and a team from private sector housing will tell about the benefits of their landlord advice service.

The participants can get knowledge on fire safety regulations from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service team. They can meet representatives from the council’s housing options, waste and recycling, environmental health and homelessness prevention Trailblazer teams.

National Landlords Association’s representative – Inna Melnyk said that the association is keen to work with the Council in improving housing standards across the district. This event is a great opportunity for NLA to provide direct support to the sector.
