Here the independent retailers in Mid Sussex are being invited by the the council to get benefited from free training of six series of sessions hosted by Martec International from Monday – November 19, 2018. The training will help the independent retailers to compete with online retailers and make their high street outlets more vibrant. The training sessions are funded by the Mix Sussex District Council.
There will be six modules will be delivered to the participants from 19 November 2018 to February 2018 which cover:
- How to refine your retail strategy to compete with online chain.
- Retail marketing
- Critical factors to manage in Range planning
- Presentation of store/ merchandise
- Sales and customer service
- Inventory management
The training is applicable for managers and owners of independent retailers in Mid Sussex Council and it is free to participate. The first session will be held on November 19 between 9 am to 12 noon and complete coaching will be end by March 2019. The participants can take part in all or any of the sessions which is suitable for them. The first session has been planned to take place at the Haywards Heath Town Council office, 40 Boltro Road, Haywards Heath. Other sessions will be held at different locations and will be informed later.
Deputy Council Leader & Cabinet Member for economic development – Councillor Jonathan Ash-Edwards said that they hope that this free training will help the retailers give practical and total training helping them to increase their sales and profits and compete with online chains. As there are limited places, they urge owners of independent shops to register for it soon. By taking part in any one event will make them to avail a free coaching and mentoring session by a Martec consultant in their own store.
Managing Director of Martec International – Brian Hume said that they are expecting to help independent retailers to compete effectively and find new ways to improve their sales and thereby profitability. The council is a forward looking authority and are offering such free training to retailers in their area which enable them to increase profitability during the festive time of Christmas and New Year.
