An initiative “30 Days of Snowsports” has been started and running from 1st October to 31st October 2018 across the UK. The governing body, Snowsports England planned to encourage more participation for snowboarding & skiing in the UK and launched the project ’30 Days of Snowsports’ which offers free and discounted sessions for all ages and abilities across the UK in various snow sports clubs, indoor snow centres, roller ski venues and dry ski slopes.
Last year, around 6000 people made use of 98 free or discounted sessions at various venues. This year more participation is expected. At its fifth year of sporting event, there will be many taster sessions, open days, competitions, freestyle events and races.
- There are ski & snowboard beginner & taster sessions at the Chill Factore in Manchester for beginners and at SnowDome in Tamworth there are ‘Learn to Ski & Snowboard’ sessions.
- There will be a free taster day on Saturday – October 13, 2018 at the North Staffordshire Ski Club and at Dorney Lake in Eton you can try “Try Roller Skiing days” on Sunday – October 14, 2018.
- On Saturday – October 20, 2018, there will be a open session at the Manchester Cross Country Ski Club and Roller skiing sessions in West Yorkshire in entire October.
- On Saturday October 20 & Sunday – October 21, there will be open sessions on skiing at Chatham Ski and Snowboard Centre and running taster/ open sessions at Kendal Ski Club in entire October.
- GP Park & Pipe team will host on October 6, the Futures Project at Kendal Ski Club, aiming to cover aspiring snowboarders and freestyle skiers.
