The Feel Good Too Centre which was originally a sports ground during 1920s, has been renovated with various facilities now. The facility will be formally inaugurated on October 5, 2018.
Local residents are being invited for various free taster sessions at the new centre on Saturday – October 6, 2018 off Ive Farm Close in Leyton. Side Out Beach Volleyball Club, Waltham Forest Hockey Club and Eton Manor Athletics Club will be available and running taster sessions between 11 am tol 4 pm on the day.
The new facilities will have a 60 metre running track, two floodlit all-weather sports pitches, 4 beach volleyball courts, a fitness trail, a pavilion including a café, flexible space for community use and an office, changing facilities, 40 growing beds and Appropriate landscaping.
Councillor Simon Miller – Waltham Forest Council’s cabinet member for economic growth and high streets said that the council has made an investment of around £11m to bring first class community and sports facilities for the residents. The project is part of council’s commitment towards improving life chances of residents by motivating them to stay fit and healthy and make the council to be a great place to live. With the new facilities, they want to be well used by the residents and clubs by the entire borough.
On the taster day, if you do not wish to try out anything, just come up and enjoy delicious food at the cafe run by Waltham Forest Catering. Those who are interested in trying out tasters, just turn up on the day wearing training shoes. Please avoid moulded stud footwear.
